Our Story

Founded at the Intersection of Clinical Insight and Systems Thinking

OperoTech was founded by clinician-researchers and health systems experts with deep experience in OBGYN, global surgery, and health policy: professionals who have worked directly within national and regional surgical systems and witnessed firsthand the consequences of fragmented infrastructure.

The company emerged from a clear recognition: lifesaving innovations consistently fail to reach the populations that need them most, not for lack of technology, but because the data infrastructure, governance systems, and implementation tools required to sustain them at scale simply do not exist in many health systems.

The adoption of WHO Resolution WHA76.2 in May 2023 provided the global policy mandate. OperoTech was conceived to provide the operational architecture to meet it, building AI-enabled tools and digital platforms that translate that mandate into measurable system performance.

OperoTech Holdings Inc. is the registered parent entity governing all divisions. Each arm is designed to reinforce the others: innovations generate intellectual property, analytics produces actionable insights, impact builds coalitions, and capital accelerates deployment.

OperoTech Innovations

The R&D engine: developing AI and augmented reality tools for surgical mapping, PPH prediction, digital triage, and related clinical applications. Responsible for generating and protecting intellectual property.

OperoAnalytics

The data and intelligence arm, aggregating and analysing data from tools and partners to produce insights aligned with WHO building blocks and LCoGS indicators. Delivers dashboards to funders, ministries, and institutions.

OperoImpact

The policy and global engagement arm, working at the WHO, UN, and WHA interface to align OperoTech's innovations with SDGs and global surgical equity targets. Leads advocacy and coalition building.

OperoTech Capital

The investment and private equity arm, designed to acquire, operate, and scale healthcare businesses, applying OperoTech's proprietary tools to improve clinical and operational performance across portfolio companies.

OperoTele

The direct service delivery arm, envisioned as a telemedicine interface bringing AI-driven surgical and women's health solutions to patients and providers in underserved settings across Africa and beyond.

OperoTech Foundation

A charitable arm focused on grants, capacity building, and surgical equity in LMICs. Mobilises philanthropic capital and sustains partnerships with global NGOs and multilateral organisations to support access in underserved health systems.
